Botanical Soaps and Salves
Country Herbals' soaps are a delight to the skin, to the nose, and to the eye. These hard milled soaps are made from vegetable oils and cured so that they may be stored indefinitely. The long-lasting bars make a silky-smooth lather that leaves the skin feeling soft and nourished. Soaps are available either unscented or scented with essential oils or organic botanicals. Each one looks like a gift package - it's hard to believe that all the materials used are recycled! Each bar measures approximately 2" x 3" before wrapping; but these soaps are hand made, so there is individual variation.
Hard milled soaps have an indefinite shelf life. Over time, they will continue to cure and therefore to shrink a little. The better cured a soap is, the better it is able to withstand changes in temperature and humidity. Shrinkage is a sign of a well-cured soap that will hold up well in storage.
Our inventory of scented and unscented soaps changes with the seasons. Scented soaps contain essential oils and may contain organic herbs. Unscented soaps contain no essential oils, but some contain oatmeal or wheat bran or organic herbs.
Purchase one bar for $3.50, or a set of three (3) mixed or matched bars for $10. We have a limited number of slightly smaller bars available for $3 each.
Country Herbals also makes a line of skin salves and lip balms. Currently in stock, we have an unscented Comfrey and Plantain Skin Salve in a base of olive oil, Vitamin E, and beeswax. It is ideal for damaged or dry skin. A small amount goes a long way.
