The practitioners and staff at East Point Associates wish you
peace and harmony at this special time of year. While the winter holidays can
be tremendously stressful, they also mark a very special point in the yearly
energetic cycle. The winter solstice is the time of greatest yin energy, the
shortest day (or the darkest day, if you will) of the year. As the hours of
daylight begin again to lengthen, the energy gradually becomes more yang, and
we look ahead to greater activity, more light, and summer. On the solstice, it
sometimes feels as though we have finally sunk to the bottom, as far as we can
go, and now we can begin to rise again.
It will be a while before we can feel that warm yang energy of
the summer sun, so we hope you will be enjoying cozy days indoors and warm
clothing should you choose to take part in all those stimulating outdoor winter
activities.
Now is a good time for
a seasonal "tune-up" or a relaxing massage or acupuncture treatment
as a gift to yourself or someone else as you cope with the stresses of the
holidays and the cold weather.
As the new year approaches, many of us re-evaluate our
goals, and make plans for the coming year. Consider using acupuncture and
massage as part of your program for all of your health issues, including weight
management, smoking cessation and facial rejuvenation.
Because the cold and flu season is in high gear, we have
included a listing below of the various herbal formulas many of you use. This
list will help you remember why you have all those different tablets in your
herbal pharmacy.
We wish you the glad tidings of the season, and we look forward
to seeing you in the new year.
Best wishes,
Mary, Kenji, Kathy, Unsoo, and Devra
